Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, also known professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female signing with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her debut EP Pho, released was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released through Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet back in 2012 after she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. In 2014 she continued to upload her music via the web, including her own released single Bound. Sweat It is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21, 2015. The following year, her music began to circulate around the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some possible references for Rihanna. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat is a song that was written by her and Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. On October 21 2016 the artist released her debut album called Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer to J. Cole on his single Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she went on to be a guest on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, called Whipped Cream, from the album came out September 5, 2018 with an accompanying music video. The second single she released was, Grampa on November 9. In November 2013 she dropped No One and Pedigree. Then she appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same title. The track was made available with a video posted on YouTube February 20, 2019 has been viewed over three million times over the first 7 days. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
